Ganodone

We recently isolated a novel benzofuran from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma tsugae that inhibited tumor cell proliferation at comparable concentrations comparable to etoposide and pacitaxel. Studies are now underway to elucidate the structure of this material as well as evaluating the mechanism in which this material inhibits cell growth and proliferation.
