Bielschowskysin

Bielschowskysin is a naturally occurring diterpene isolated from the Caribbean gorgonian octocoral Pseudopterogorgia kallos by a team led by Rodríguez and Capson (read it now). Collaborative studies with the Rodríguez (University of Puerto Rico) and Lear (National University of Singapore) laboratories are now underway to probe its modes of action in tumor cells. We are also exploring how this unique natural product inhibits the growth of the malaria parasite.
